Here Is Some Specific Information On AOL Personals

By Eric Finch

There are many different sites online on the Internet these days that are set up for people looking for love or friendship, and just by registering some personal information, you can start a search for that perfect someone to complement your life----either in a romantic situation, or just as a friend or companion. AOL personals is one of those sites, and is probably one that has been around for a very long time because it covers all walks of life and all preferences.

The original online site of AOL personals is no longer in operation, but instead is referring folks who sign on to the site to other paid personals sites. AOL personals used to be a free site for those looking for love, but things have changed, and instead of finding the free benefits that used to be available for users, a series of referrals to other paid sites show up and the user must choose one of them to continue his/her search.

The sites that visitors to AOL personals are referred to are prominent names in the dating match up world, like Match.com, or eHarmony----and People Media. Some sites are a little more in depth in their request for information and the lengths they go to find out unique aspects about you, so the respective searchers are matched on not just likes and dislikes, but beliefs and morality and spirituality. The search on a site begins when the person searching signs into a database and enters his personal information as laid out by the monitoring site; and then he fills out a questionnaire that covers what kind of a person are you looking for, whether or not you just want someone to do things with, or do you want a romantic relationship, or are you looking specifically for a marriage partner. Most sites will request a photo of you to post with your database of info, because there are people out there looking who still go by what you look like first, and then who you actually are, second.

The categories that most of these dating sites are divided up into are primarily delineated by sex, age, race, and religion. Some of the more prominent sites are gay and lesbian sites, black people meet, Catholic people meet, Jewish people meet, Christian singles, senior people meet, and single parent meets. Even if you are just looking for a friend to spend some time with, to do things you both enjoy, that possibility exists also. If you are sincere in your search, and spend some quality time at it, you can find the person you are looking for eventually.

Another factor that is available for those who subscribe to or sign up with AOL personals, is their Face Book account online. This account has been established so people can read about and learn about what to say or not to say on a first date; how to make sense out of the signals someone is sending you from across the room, or how to interpret a first date's body language. The site will have all kinds of helpful hints on dating and social interactions, and can be a big help for someone just getting back into the action of dating again.

AOL personals has gone one step further in allowing people to exchange information and helpful hints about dating and how to interact with people on a social level by having message boards that are open for use by subscribers. On these message boards, you can post questions you have about any facet of the dating scene, make contact with other users, and have your questions answered by someone who has been through the very same situation themselves. If the spirit moves you, you can do the answering if you like-----you can use your experience to answer someone else's question as well.

Of all the dating sites that exist on the internet, AOL personals has been one of the fixtures for a long time. Even though it no longer operates a free site, it still offers a large variety of options through referrals to other dating sites, and provides the means for large numbers of people to sign up and register themselves for finding someone they can spend time with, be happy with, and in some cases---form a long term relationship with to fill the void in their lives.
